Our Core Mission Beliefs
Mission begins in the heart of God: “As the Father has sent me, I am sending you” (John 20:21).
Missions is the mission of the Church: “Go and make disciples of all nations . . .” (Matthew 28:19).
The local church is God’s primary mission force: “But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light” (1 Peter 2:9).
The Holy Spirit is the power for missions: “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth” (Acts 1:8).
Partnership is a Biblical concept: “I thank my God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now” (Philippians 1:3-5).
Every church is responsible to apply the Biblical principle of partnership based on the opportunities God gives them: “Be wise . . . making the most of every opportunity” (Colossians 4:5).
Prayer is the essential link between God and the mission field: “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field” (Luke 10:2).
Giving is a privilege: “. . . they urgently pleaded with us for the privilege of sharing in the service to the saints” (2 Corinthians 8:4).
Our Faith
We believe that both the Old and New Testaments are the divinely inspired Word of God, inerrant in the original manuscripts, and the supreme and final authority for faith and practice.
We believe there is only one living and true God, Creator and Ruler of the universe, eternally existent in three co-equal persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
We believe in the full deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious, atoning death on the cross, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to Heaven’s glory, and in His personal, visible and triumphant return.
We believe the Holy Spirit is present in the world to make people aware of their need for Christ, and that He indwells every believer so as to provide understanding of spiritual truth, guidance in doing the Father’s will, and power for serving and godly living.
We believe in the necessity of the spiritual regeneration of sinful man by the power of the Holy Spirit. This spiritual rebirth is the only salvation and is the gift of God.
We believe that all persons are created to exist forever. There will be a resurrection of all, and each will either exist eternally separated from God by sin, or in union and fellowship with God through forgiveness and salvation. To be eternally separated from God is Hell. To be eternally in union with Him is eternal life. Heaven and Hell are places for eternal existence.
We believe in the spiritual unity of the church, which is the Body of Christ, and that it is comprised of all who have been born again by the power of the Holy Spirit through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
