Richard sent a special note regarding the work here: “Pastors from Tanzania and Kenya are gathered here in Geita for training. They are men of great spiritual insight and commitment and it is my great privilege to work with them. Pictured here is the group for which we are conducting training. Their commitment and their stories challenge and bless me. What a great privilege to be part of what God is doing in this place. Please continue praying for these days of intensive training.”

At Xtend Ministries International, our mission is to “extend the kingdom of Christ by proclaiming the gospel to the nations, planting churches internationally, encouraging and strengthening existing churches, and developing effective leaders.” As you can imagine, the global pandemic has had a significant toll on the countries in which we minister. Resources that we have available to us in the Western World are not as readily available in these countries, technology is not the same, and vaccination distribution is not as rapid. However, through all of this our mission continues. In fact, in just two weeks I will travel to the east African country of Tanzania where I will be conducting training for pastors and church leaders. I am so looking forward to this opportunity and you can be a part of making this happen.
I will be conducting training of pastors in the Geita Christian College located in the northern part of Tanzania near Lake Victoria. Our work there will help train pastors and evangelists to reach this country of 59.5 million, with its 155 people groups, almost 20 percent of which are completely unreached. This work is a vital part of our global strategy to address a worldwide theological famine in which our brothers are crying out for relief. According to the Center For The Study of Global Christianity at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, only 5 percent have any formal theological training. The rapid growth in new believers means that we need, daily, over 1,000 newly trained pastors just to keep up with the growth of the Christian population. Seminaries currently meet only 10 percent of the demand and much less than this internationally. Thanks to the support of people like you, we can provide much-needed training to equip pastors and evangelists in these nations.
